Sale of Maiutazas.hu Group

We acted as sell-side M&A advisor to the owners of Maiutazas.hu Group, the leading Hungarian online travel deal retailer in connection with the sale to Szallas.hu.

The Group offers travel packages, hotel offers and thematic experience packages on its websites of Maiutazas.hu, Hotelkupon.hu, Foglaljvelunk.hu and PihiPakk.hu. Foreign travel packages sold on the websites are arranged by the Group’s fast-growing own tour operator.

Szallas.hu, which is owned by OTP Bank and Exim Bank through investment funds, operates booking sites in 5 Central Eastern European countries with a staff of 275 at group level. The acquisition of Maiutazas.hu Group is part of Szallas.hu’s regional expansion strategy, by which the buyer has broadened its activity with new services and an extensive user database, while gaining considerable synergy opportunities as well.
