Sale of an equity stake in innovative free-from food producer Szafi Products to a group of strategic and financial investors
Invescom advised the founders of Szafi Products, the Hungarian market leader in free-from (allergen-free) foods, in finding an investor partner that supports the company in realizing its long-term growth plans. Anita Ipsits and Gábor Ipsits emerged as the perfect investor partners in consortium with Hiventures and acquired an equity stake in the business. The founders retain an ownership stake as well as their leadership roles in the company.
Szafi Products started the production of free-from foods in 2015. Driven by its progressive, innovative recipes and maximum commitment to consumer satisfaction, the company quickly became a significant player in the Hungarian market.
The company’s continuously expanding product portfolio is offered under two brands: products in the Szafi Free line are vegan, free from all four major allergens as well as from sweeteners; while Szafi Reform products are low in calories, high in fibre and free of added sugar. The steadily growing product offering includes flour mixes, baking and cooking ingredients as well as convenience foods (snacks, sauces, desserts, etc.).
